In a remarkable demonstration of leadership and unwavering commitment to community development, the Chairperson of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Barrister Rekiyah Olufunke Hassan, has embarked upon an ambitious infrastructural development initiative aimed at transforming the landscape of the council area.
With resolute determination, Barrister Rekiyah Hassan, on Wednesday, 19th February, simultaneously flagged off the resurfacing and asphalting of three streets within the council area. This ongoing project promises to rejuvenate the affected communities, facilitate seamless transportation, and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the environment.
FLAGGING OFF TWO NEW PROJECTS IN OREGUN
As part of her relentless drive for infrastructural development, Barrister Rekiyah Hassan, on Friday, 21st February, alongside her team, visited Oregun to formally commence two new projects: the resurfacing of Sadatu Street and Oremeta Street. These streets will be paved with interlocking stones and complemented with a brand-new drainage system. The projects, scheduled for completion within five months, are set to significantly improve the living conditions and infrastructural landscape of the council area.
HOMAGE TO ONIGBONGBO APC PARTY LGA CHAIRMAN
During the visit, Barrister Rekiyah Hassan and her team paid homage to the Onigbongbo LCDA APC Party LGA Chairman, Alhaja Aminat Iyabode Akerele, who not only resides on the street but also serves as a landlady. In a show of respect and appreciation, Alhaja Akerele prayed fervently for the chairperson, commending her dedication to the development of the council area.
Joining in the prayers were key community figures, including the Treasurer of the Street Association, Mr. Ifesanya Olufemi, Alhaja Mutiat Oladapo, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, Reverend Oyeleso, and Chief Imam Oseni.
ENGAGEMENT WITH RESIDENTS’ REPRESENTATIVES
Further demonstrating her commitment to grassroots engagement, Barrister Rekiyah Hassan met with representatives of Oremeta Street, including Akoogun Kola Onadipe, Mrs. Ajala, Mrs. Dairo, and Mrs. Akinubi. Notably, Mrs. Akinubi, the eldest resident and a landlady of over fifty years, provided insight into the challenges faced by the community.
In response, Akoogun Kola Onadipe expressed heartfelt appreciation to the chairperson for keeping her promises, a testament to her unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people.
