The Oyo State Government has described as misleading and mischievous a viral video alleging absence of doctors and nurses at Adeoyo Hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan.

The Chairman, Oyo State Hospitals Management Board (OYSHMB), Hon. Adekunle Bankole, Esq., stated this on Friday while reacting to the one-minute, 30-second video recorded on September 30, 2025.

Hon. Bankole said the video was deliberately made to tarnish the efforts of the state government in the health sector and undermine public confidence in government-owned health facilities.

He noted that the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has continued to prioritize sustainable, affordable and accessible healthcare delivery for all residents of the state.

According to him, the government remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery across the state, particularly with the increase in the number of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in its hospitals and health facilities to ensure improved access to quality medical services.

“The state government has recently concluded the recruitment of additional health workers across various cadres to strengthen professional manpower and improve service delivery in all government hospitals,” Bankole stated.

The OYSHMB Chairman advised members of the public to visit the Board’s headquarters at the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, for clarification on issues relating to hospital management and healthcare services in the state.

He urged residents to continue to patronize government hospitals within their localities, assuring them that qualified health personnel are available to provide quality and sustainable healthcare services.
