The bishop of Ibadan North Diocese of Anglican Communion, Church of Nigeria, Rt. Rever’d Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe charged the newly ordained priests in the diocese to be diligent in the discharge of their various duties to God and mankind.
The charge was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Ibadan North Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Ayoade Olugbemiga on the Trinity Ordination Service at the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Ibadan.
Bishop Aladekugbe appealed to the Ordinands to be modest, honest, hardworking and make the spread of evangelism their watch word.
The cleric called on congregation to give the new priests the necessary support and always pray for them to have success in their new assignmens.
He admonished both Nigerians and residents to cooperate with our leaders to jointly fight the cankerworms plaguing our dear nation, Nigeria as there is light at the end of the tunnel.
In his sermon at the service,the Venerable Remi Afosi enjoined the new priests to uphold their devine callings to comfort,relief burdens, preach peaceful co _ existence , be self reliant and assist the poor and the needy in the society.
He enlightened them that their calling goes beyond four conners of the church but they should puckle up to face challenges ahead of them especially rural evangelism, having social engagement with their host communities , think outside the box and make themselves relevant so as to reach their promised land.
The Trinity Ordination Service aimed at admitting the newly educated, trained and certified clergy into priesthood.
Highlights of the service include hymns, collect of purity, readings of Bible passages, Ordination proper, Thanksgiving, the ministry of the sacrament, benediction among others.
