The Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese and the Archbishop of Ibadan province, His Grace,Most Reverend (Dr) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe called on christians all over the world to learn how to pray, for their prayers to be answered.
He made the call in the sermon during the joint service of the women’s guild in Ibadan North Anglican Diocese at Victoria memorial Anglican church, Olorunsogo, Ibadan.
The message was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Ayoade Olugbemiga during the said service.
According to Archbishop Aladekugbe,we have two types of prayers namely; personal prayer and intercessionary prayer, while the personal prayer addresses our needs such as protection, healthy living, riches, provision, security , success and wisdom as requested by king Solomon in 1st king chapter 3 verses 9-11, while intercessionary prayer is the act of intervening on behalf of others as done by Jesus Christ interceding for the whole world as well as Prophet Moses interceding for Israelites.
Archbishop Aladekugbe enjoined christians to note that for their prayers to be answered, they must be humble, have faith, give glory to God,persevere, confess and forsake their sins.
He appreciated the women in the Diocese for their prayers, moral,
financial and spiritual support to the Diocese so as to collectively take the Diocese to a greater height.
